In the event your vehicle’s air-conditioner system is blowing nothing but warm, stale air, it is probably because its refrigerant levels are too low. The most common cause of that is a leak occurring somewhere within the system.
Although many vehicle owners might think they’ll need to top off their A.C.
with more refrigerant regularly, that’s usually not the case. If the air conditioner stops functioning (yet the fan is still moving hot air) the cause is probably a hose leak, a connector or another component. During the wintertime, you might notice that the vehicle’s defroster isn’t sufficiently clearing up the windshield. That, too, is a warning sign of a leak. Defrosters usually engage the air conditioner system to do their job.
Air Conditioner Repair Services for Your Vehicle
When a leak occurs, the air-conditioning systems on most contemporary vehicles will shut off when the refrigerant drops too low in order to avoid damage to the compressor. (Note that we’re referring to “refrigerant” and not Freon. Freon is the brand name of a refrigerant that isn’t made in USA any longer.) Contemporary motor vehicles now use a refrigerant called R-134.
How can vehicle owners know for sure when it’s time to refill the refrigerant? The best place is to simply be proactive and get it done prior to experiencing any problems. If your car’s air conditioning system seems to be losing its ability to keep you cool and comfortable, don’t hesitant to call our shop and schedule service.
Naturally, the most obvious sign your vehicle needs AC repair is when it’s no longer cooling. However, another common warning sign is if you’re hearing unusual noises when the AC is on. The unpleasant odor of mildew coming out of the vents is also a sign of a problem.
